SHAN 3

Main Quest / Sidequests

You're Shan, and you're reminiscing on your early days in the Wastes, when you worked as a janitor in a GNCO factory. You had to clean up an executive mess, and while you were disposing of an unfortunate corpse, your brother appeared... but this is no time for a trip down memory lane. What you need is an ally — and conveniently, a passing Signalman gives you a poster advertising a contest to win a date with Palladium Furst himself!

TIPS: You remember throwing out a corpse outside the old factory before everything went wrong...

You'll need more information about the contest if you want to enter and win. Track down Caesium in Gruze and get the deets. According to him, the contest will be held at the Palladium Fanclub in Sartova; if you're not already a member of Furst Place, Caesium will make you one now. Leave Gruze by the north exit [C] and head through the Wastes to Sartova.

[-TOWN MAP-]
TIPS: Zadig is under occupation by the Fursts, so you shouldn't linger and risk unwanted attention.

Make your way north through the desert Wastes and enter the Sewers in the northeast. The Sewers are just as dangerous as the Wastes — be prepared for attacks by wastewalkers and mutant rats alike. If you survive these perils, exit via the ladder at the top of the Sewers, and you'll be relatively safe in Sartova.

TIPS: The Sewers contain valuable loot as well as dangerous enemies.

Sartova is home to the Palladium Fanclub [A], where the date contest is being held. There's also an inn [I], a Furst's [H], a Kincaid's [F], and a Harmacy [E], if you need healing or supplies. It's worth your while to check out the town and talk to its inhabitants.

[-TOWN MAP-]
TIPS: The inhabitants of Sartova are confrontational, but not likely to actually fight you.

You'll arrive at the Palladium Fanclub just in time for the contest's winner to be announced. Here, you'll have to hide your identity even more than usual — take up the guise of Shanjamin O'Malley and see if you win! Spoiler: you don't. Luckily, Caesium is willing to use his powers and give you a second shot. Talk to him after the contest, and he'll send you back in time. Now you just need to convince the other entrants to drop out of the running.

TIPS: You recognize a couple of the fanclub members — why not strike up a conversation?

The remaining club presidents — Tennessine, Moscovium, and Iridium — are hanging out around the Fanclub. Each must be persuaded differently:
Tennessine - Use all three skills, then question Tennessine's trivia knowledge.
Moscovium - Repeatedly challenge Moscovium's reasons for entering the contest.
Iridium - Challenge Iridium's motives, then cheer her to deal the final blow.

TIPS: Use the "cheer" ability to regain health if you're low.

With the presidents out of the way, catch up to your future self and watch the drawing again — this time you'll win! Chat with Palladium, then meet up with him outside to explain your plan. Palladium will join you party; the two of you will decide to head to The Pink Slip in Heisenburg, where Palladium believes Wyatt is hiding.

[-TOWN MAP-]
TIPS: You can catch the bus [C] for a quick ride to Heisenburg.

Enter The Pink Slip [B] and talk to the cashier. They'll inform you that Wyatt is indeed there, and let you into the club's main area. Enter the bedroom in the northwest to find Wyatt putting the moves on an uninterested employee. This is your chance to confront your brother with Palladium on your side!

[-TOWN MAP- (business)]
TIPS: The Pink Slip also sells delicious, healthful cocktails.

Boss Fight: Wyatt Oh

Wyatt has challenged you to a fight! With Palladium as your ally, you've got the edge — but Wyatt isn't going to go down easily. The Oh family's fire-based powers mean that Wyatt is weak to water and electric attacks, so use this to your advantage. After the fight, you'll have an opportunity to spend some quality time with Palladium.

TIPS: During this fight, Wyatt will call for backup. You'll have to defeat his "friends" before you can attack him directly.

When you come to your senses, Palladium has vanished, but he left behind a note for you: he wants you to meet him again at the brawl in Sartova. Retrace your steps through the towns, the Wastes, and the Sewers, and make your way back to Sartova. Palladium is nowhere to be seen, so talk to the locals and try to find out where he might be.

[-TOWN MAP-]
TIPS: Sartova's Furst's [H] sells unique fashions not found anywhere else.

Among Sartova's inhabitants, skulking outside the Harmacy [E], you find a familiar face: the GNCO soldier who accosted you in the Furst's in Gruze. He seems to know something about Palladium, but he won't give up his info too easily. You'll have to beat it out of him or fork over a hefty bribe if you want to know more.

[-TOWN MAP-]
TIPS: Sartova's Harmacy boasts a line of designer Blood+ (illicit, of course) that's quite popular.

The soldier informed you that Palladium is likely in Sartova's underground arena, which has a secret entrance in Club Kino [D]. Push aside the curtain in the club's art room to access the arena, then descend. It doesn't seem like Palladium is here, but you'll run into some others who are also looking for him: a bizarre GNCO whitecoat and a hot-tempered signalman. Nothing to be done but fight it out!

[-TOWN MAP-]
TIPS: Palladium isn't here, but the Old King's at the bar, and it's a good idea to chat with him.

Boss Fight: Lithium and Nitros

The strange duo has challenged you to a fight! They've got you two to one, but you've spent a long time preparing for a fight like this. Use your skills and firepower to your advantage! Defeat them, and you'll move on to the game's next chapter.

TIPS: Lithium gets stronger when his HP is lower — but you already know that, don't you?

If you've already completed Lithium III, Palladium will show up after the fight with Lithium and Nitros. He invites you to his greenroom, and you have no choice but to accept. Get acquainted with your new friends — or fellow hostages? — then watch the brawl on the greenroom's TV. After the brawl is over, Palladium's bodyguard will enter; talk to him and try to figure things out.

TIPS: This brawl promises to be entertaining... sit back and enjoy the show!

Palladium is finally here and ready to talk. What he says is very concerning, but you don't have time to think about it, as he'll challenge you to a battle with Tungsten on his side. The two of them make a pair that seems undefeatable! Still, try your best to take them out. Curie will interrupt the battle to talk to Palladium, and after a brief and informative chat, everyone will head out of the greenroom and into the arena. Someone familiar is waiting for you there...

TIPS: Keep trying different attacks against Palladium and Tungsten — something has to work eventually!

Main Quest / Sidequests

Sidequest: Locker Cleanout
In Heisenburg's Business District, there's a GNCO surplus store [C] where the proprietor needs some assistance. Some soldier has left their lunch in their locker, and you'll need to track down their codes to open it up and clean it out. The soldiers can be found outside the Surplus, outside the Residential District train station [I], and in the Heisenburg Harbor [G].

[-TOWN MAP- (business)] | [-TOWN MAP- (residential)]
TIPS: The soldiers wont give up their locker codes without a fight!

Sidequest: Locker Cleanout
Once you have all three locker codes, you can open the lockers up and clean them out; watch out for the vermin that have moved in! For your trouble, the surplus's proprietor will try to recruit you to GNCO's armed forces. You'll have to show him that you're not interested — by force, if necessary. When he's out of the way, you'll gain access to the surplus's Bullet Dispenser, which provides as many bullets as you can carry.

[-TOWN MAP- (business)] | [-TOWN MAP- (residential)]
TIPS: The lockers without a giant leech in them contain some nice free items.
