Main Quest / Sidequests

You're Lithium, and you're locked up in the back of a police van. Luckily, your decaying arms let you slip out of your restraints. You can free yourself and Nitros and escape, but something's happening up front — a mysterious assailant has taken out the driver! Talk to him and find out what's going on.


TIPS: Prosthetic arms are a little harder to pop off than corpse arms are.

It turns out that Curie, your boss back at the hospital, sent a weird guy to rescue you. You've been told that she needs you to return to work and help her out, but right now, you're deep in the Wastes. There are a couple ways back to Heisenburg: you can head through the Sewers into Sartova and catch the bus there; or, you can make your way down to Gruze, then Zadig, and hop on the bus or the subway.


TIPS: The Sewers are a dangerous place, but so are the Wastes between Gruze and Zadig. Your path is up to you!
TIPS: Back in Heisenburg, you have a great opportunity to pick up new supplies — and to pay your overdue rent.

The Heisenburg Hospital is not the same as it was when you left — it's become infested with mutated leeches, drawn to the odor of Blood+. Enter the hospital [A] and Curie will recruit you to clear them out. First, retrieve the keys from the janitor in the south bathroom. Next, you'll need to find and sanitize each of three centrifuges located around the hospital, but be careful: doing so will attract more enemies for you to fight.

TIPS: There's a peephole in the wall of the women's bathroom; look through it to witness some shady business.

When you sanitize the final centrifuge, a rogue Immorel will run off with one of Lithium's arms. You can try to contact Curie through the lab door — but she's not responding. Luckily, Lithium knows an alternate entrance. Make your way to the north bathroom, and Lithium can crawl through the vent into the air ducts, leaving Nitros behind. A familiar man will show up and attack her; defeat him, then lead Lithium through the ducts into the lab. Here, Curie returns Lithium's arm, and reveals her role in the hospital's current state. She'll need to be defeated as well.


TIPS: You'll be safe from random attacks in the small room next to the lockers.

Boss Fight: Curie and ???


Curie and the mysterious assailant have challenged you to a fight! Since Curie is being guarded, you'll need to concentrate your attacks on your other enemy; meanwhile, Curie will repeatedly use random attacks of her own. Once defeated, Curie will reveal her true identity, give you some valuable information, and join your party.


TIPS: Low on health? Pilfer medical items from around the room and drink some cool, clear water from the sink!

Curie's appointed herself the new leader of your quest, and she wants to head to Sartova to look for her brother Palladium. Unfortunately, Sartova is a ways away from Heisenburg. Retrace your steps back to where you escaped police custody, then sneak through Sartova's Sewers to enter the town itself. Now, it's time to track down the elusive streamer...


TIPS: Curie can synthesize enemy skills during combat. Use this to your advantage!

Sartova is a town with a bad reputation, and it definitely deserves it. Still, the best way to find Palladium is to talk to the locals — someone has to know something useful. Your best lead will come from Vanadium, Sartova's premier dealer of designer Blood+; you'll find him in the town's Harmacy [E].

Vanadium informed you that Palladium is likely in Sartova's underground arena, which has a secret entrance in Club Kino [D]. Push aside the curtain in the club's art room to access the arena, then descend. It doesn't seem like Palladium is here, but you'll meet someone else who's also looking for him: a mysterious wastewalker who doesn't take kindly to your butting in. It's time for a fight!

TIPS: If you want to pursue Lithium's sidquests, don't descend to the arena, or you'll be locked into the end of this chapter.

Boss Fight: Shan


The wastewalker Shan has challenged you to a fight! He seems well-prepared, but you've got him outmatched two to one. Use your superior numbers to your advantage! Defeat him, and you'll move on to the game's next chapter.


TIPS: Watch out for Shan's special enhanced abilities — and his special enhanced bullets.

If you've already completed Shan III, Palladium will show up after the fight with Lithium and Nitros. He invites you to his greenroom, and you have no choice but to accept. Get acquainted with your new friends — or fellow hostages? — then watch the brawl on the greenroom's TV. After the brawl is over, Palladium's bodyguard will enter; talk to him and try to figure things out.


TIPS: This brawl promises to be entertaining... sit back and enjoy the show!

Palladium is finally here and ready to talk. What he says is very concerning, but you don't have time to think about it, as he'll challenge you to a battle with Tungsten on his side. The two of them make a pair that seems undefeatable! Still, try your best to take them out. Curie will interrupt the battle to talk to Palladium, and after a brief and informative chat, everyone will head out of the greenroom and into the arena. Someone familiar is waiting for you there...


TIPS: Keep trying different attacks against Palladium and Tungsten — something has to work eventually!



Main Quest / Sidequests

Sidequest: Photographic Evidence
Nitros's parcel has an additional coded message in it for you to decipher. Determine and enter the encoding word, and you'll discover that there is an old man in Sartova who may have first-hand knowledge regarding the Glorious Chairman. You can find this man operating the projector in Club Kino [D]. He'll tell you that he has a photo of Glorious Chairman, and offer to let you develop it in the club's darkroom.

Sidequest: Photographic Evidence
While waiting for the photo to develop, you're interrupted by the goons Igor and Letov. You can fight them off, but they'll come back — use items around the room to block off potential entry points! Once they've been thoroughly trounced, you can retrieve your photo and bring it back to the old man to discuss its contents.


TIPS: Some items can be combined to create more effective hazards.

Sidequest: Zadig's Secrets
With the Fursts occupying Zadig, you have a perfect opportunity to raid the town's Blood+ lab [H]. The place has already been ransacked by Junkies, but it's still worth rifling around yourself. On your way out, you'll meet a strange person who tells you that they've lost something important — and that the Siblings of the Vein might have it...

TIPS: Be prepared for an attack, in cas the Junkies who raided the lab are still hanging around.

Sidequest: Zadig's Secrets
You'll need to get into the GNCO Museum to investigate the BSV, but the Fursts have it locked up. Talk to the Furst standing guard outside the museum, and you'll learn that the key is with a Furst named Sulfur, who's in the local Pabst's [F]. Head inside and speak with him to get the museum's key.

Sidequest: Zadig's Secrets
Inside the museum, you'll find the Siblings of the Vein on lockdown. Snoop around and locate a hidden staircase, which you can take down to a secret BSV bunker. After you defeat the lone acolyte who's watching over things, you'll come to a gate with a biometric blood lock. Unfortunately, the acolyte doesn't have sufficient clearance to unlock it. . .


TIPS: Something looks a little different in the museum's gift shop.

Sidequest: Zadig's Secrets
The gate's biometric lock has an override code — maybe the BSV has hidden the combination somewhere in their bunker? Investigate the piles of merchandise to find a couple potential codes, and try them on the lock. Once you've tried them all to no avail, you can try Lithium's blood in the scanner, and somehow, the gate will open.


TIPS: There are three potential codes hidden in the BSV bunker.

Sidequest: Zadig's Secrets
Past the gate, the bunker houses a medieval-looking laboratory, and a single scientist hard at work. Defeat him with the help of one of his experiments. The strange, spacesuited person from before will sneak into the lab during your fight. Maybe they've found what they were looking for?


TIPS: There's nothing useful in this lab — just filthy surgical implements and blood everywhere.
