SHAN 1

You're Shan, and you're deep in the Wastes, getting mugged. After defeating your assailant, speak to the wastewalker in the area's northwest corner. The defeated bandit will return with reinforcements. Beat him again, take his bike, and ride into Gruze.

TIPS: Wandering enemies will attack if they run into you.

Welcome to dismal Gruze! Word on the street says that Palladium is in town to stream his usual commentary on the upcoming Brawl. Visit Kincaid's Weapons [A] and talk to the shopkeeper to receive a Brawl Flyer; he'll advise you to show the flyer to the cashier at Furst's Sundries [F]. Unfortunately, there's a GNCO soldier surveying the store, and you'll need to defeat them if you want to speak freely. Once they're out of the way, pay the cashier and receive your brawl tickets. You can now make your way to the construction site and down to the Gruze Arena [G].

TIPS: If you're hurt, you can visit the Inn [B] to heal up.

Optional Pre-Brawl Tasks: Various
Talk to the poor women in the town's southeast to obtain a guide to item crafting; read the book, and it will be added to your main menu.
Visit Pabst's Dining [D] and speak to the Mrs. Pabst behind the counter for a menu — use it order food from anywhere and pick it up at the nearest Pabst's!
Bring some Saline to the guy passed out in the Arena's southeast bathroom for a nice reward.

Optional Pre-Brawl Tasks: Furst Place
You can purchase the Palladium doll from Furst's [F] for a moderate price. The cashier will also give you a poster for Palladium to autograph.
Give the Palladium doll to Caesium, the fanboy outside Furst's, and he'll make you a member of the Palladium fanclub "Furst Place".
Show your club ID to the fan next to the Arena's betting counter. They'll give you some helpful documents in return.

TIPS: You can sometimes find items by searching trash cans, boxes, and scrap metal.

Optional Pre-Brawl Tasks: Palladium's Mic
After joining Furst Place, talk to the roadie outside the Arena bathroom; he'll give you a Mic Coupon and ask that you craft a new mic for Palladium.
You can use the machine at Kincaid's [A] to craft a basic Mic from three Scrap Metal and the Mic Coupon.
Then, combine three Scrap Metal, the Mic, and one Saline — this will create an Amped Mic. Bring it to the roadie for your reward!

TIPS: These recipes can also be used with other coupons, weapons, and enhancement items.

Back in the arena, the brawl is due to start any minute, along with Palladium's broadcast. Enter the main arena area and you'll meet Tungsten, Palladium's bodyguard. Once you've surrendered your weapons, head up to the bar, get yourself a drink, and watch the brawl! Palladium will come talk with you once it's over.

TIPS: You can bet on the brawl at the counter by the entrance. Smart money is on The Old King.

Boss Fight: Palladium Furst

Palladium has challenged you to a fight! Now is the time to prove your skills, and show that you have what it takes to destroy GNCO. Since Palladium isn't really out to kill you, this fight isn't super tough; still, be strategic and work around Palladium's attacks.

TIPS: Watch out for Palladium's "Mirror Guard" skill, which reflects Blood+ attacks and may counter physical ones.

After your fight, you can retrieve your items from Tungsten and leave the Arena; be sure to collect your winnings at the counter if you placed a good bet. Palladium will stop you on your way out for another chat. If you have the poster, don't forget to ask Palladium to sign it! Exit the Arena and you'll progress to the game's next chapter.
